Verona Walk Policy and Procedure for Using Pickleball Courts
Issue Date January 14, 2026
Pickleball facilities are available for use by all Verona Walk residents /lessees and their accompanied guests. At its HOA meeting of January 23, 2025, the HOA Board approved the Pickleball Court Rules and Regulations. These Rules and Regulations have been posted at each court entrance as well as on the Verona Walk Pickleball website: www.veronawalkpickleball.com. Included in the Pickleball Court Rules and Regulations are the following hours the courts are available for play:
Courts 1-4 7:30 – Dusk
Lighted Courts 5 – 6 – 7:30 AM – 9:00 PM
This policy is to help ensure fair and equitable access to our Pickleball facilities for all Verona Walk residents and lessees.
The VW HOA has licensed the Court Reserve software system for registering qualifying members and for reserving court time and booking various events. The Pickleball Club uses the Court Reserve system and the HOA Board has delegated the administrative duties of operating Court Reserve to the VW Pickleball Club, who has assigned certain officers administrative rights. Resident or lessees must register on Court Reserve to make court reservations. Otherwise, residents or lessees may walk-on any available court, but reservations and scheduled events have priority in the event a conflict.
To ensure residents and lessees have the opportunity to play as often as possible, we have established “Open Play times” as well as several “Just-For-Fun” and “Play Groups” designed for men, women or mixed gender as well as by skill level. In addition, VW fields up to six intercommunity teams in leagues such as the East Naples Inter-Community League (ENICL) and the Southwest Florida Top Dog League. Home games for these teams are scheduled and courts reserved. All other times during allowable play hours courts may be reserved for individual play through the members’ Court Reserve membership.
The order of priority for court utilization is:
OPEN Play
Just-For-Fun and Play Groups
New Player Training Sessions
ENICL and Top Dog League play
Individual reservations
Unreserved or walk-on usage
“Open Play” is reserved on all courts from 7:30Am – 10:30 Am Monday through Saturday and Sunday from 7:30AM – 11:00 on Courts 1-4 and from 7:30AM-10:30AM on Courts 5 & 6. In addition, Open Play is reserved for lighted courts 5 & 6 from 6:00PM – 9:00PM.
“Just-For-Fun” and “Play Groups” may request of the Court Reserve administrator a recurring reservation time for the number of courts desired and not to exceed 2 hours or more than one day a week. Generally, these leagues are scheduled to begin after Open Play hours for the period October through April.
Captains of the ENICL and Top Dog Leagues may request the Court Reserve administrator to reserve courts for home matches which should not exceed two hours on the date of the match. For practice sessions the Captains of the team may request the administrator to reserve courts for a period not to exceed 1.5 hours one day a week.
The coordinators / instructors of the “New Player Practice Sessions” and the “Beginner Lessons” may make their own reservations or request the Court Reserve administrator to reserve court times. Generally these sessions will be during the busy season from Mid-October through April and may not exceed 1.5 hours and one day a week. If demand requires, more practice sessions may be scheduled.
Individuals registered in Court Reserve may reserve a court at any other time that the courts are open for use. Generally reservations may be made from one week up to one hour before the reservation date and are not to exceed 1 hour. Only one reservation per member can be made for the same day.
It is the responsibility of the Pickleball Club Officers to ensure adherence to this policy and to propose changes for HOA Board consideration as necessary.
This policy was approved by the Verona Walk Pickleball Committee on January 12, 2026.
Issued by Greg Lieb, Chair Veronawalk Pickleball Committee.
